Drawn from tracings from natural and industrial elements in the past, Traces looks at transitions in our time towards a new sense of place. Direct tracings taken from: Live oak on Market Street, Simmons boats, local geographical maps, and early elevator gearing all local to Wilmington, NC. The negative space within forms points down through the sculpture to the concrete base, alluding to the ghost forest.

Traces is composed of a mix of natural and industrial forms, and made of industrial material formed to organic shapes that ascend, spiral, and grow denoting time.
